Answered Prayer

After losing my father in March at 87 yrs of age, I just felt that my heart was completely broken & could never be repaired.

I knew that I had to try to handle this brokenness because i was helping to take care of my beautiful mom who had lost the love of her life after 66 years of marriage. She was totally devastated & kept saying she loved us, but wanted to go to heaven with our dad.

The 5 of her children tried to comfort her to no avail. I stopped at the shrine of the Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville, Alabama on the way to pick up my daughters' children in Nashville. They were to spend 2 weeks with me.

I left three petitions at the shrine for the priests & nuns to pray for her. I also spoke to one of the priests there of our grief. I just wanted her to be happy again.

She always had such a beautiful smile, but we had not seen it in so long. Father assured us that he would keep her in prayer. We proceeded onto Nashville to pick up the children & on the way back to New Orleans, we had planned to bring the children to the shrine.

When we got to the exit, my cell phone rang. It was my niece informing us that my mother had just passed away with three rosaries wrapped around her. Despite my already broken heart, my husband informed me that my prayer had just been answered.

I knew that she had just joined my dad with our beautiful Blessed Mother leading her into heaven. Since that time the three petitions that I left there have been answered.

My mom & dad are still loving our family - they are just doing it from heaven now. Prayers are so very powerful, so be very careful of what you pray for.
