Prayer to stay out of jail

My boyfriend Matthew, who is Catholic, is facing jail time. A few months ago he was attacked in the face by a dog. He punched the dog to get the dog off of him and the owner then came and attacked my boyfriend. They got into a fight and the cops were called. My boyfriend went to jail even though it was self-defense because it just so happened that the guy and his dog who attacked him had a brother on the police force. My boyfriend ended up with several stitches in his face because of the dog bite. For months this has been in and out of court and everything was looking good for probable probation up until 2 weeks ago and now my boyfriend's lawyer thinks that he may possibly do jail time. He is out of his mind with worry and grief. As am I and his 13 year old daughter and his mother. Please pray that God will intervene on his behalf and that he will not face jail time for this.
